Winter is still in full swing in South Africa. We have had some great winter rain in the Western Cape that has seen to an early arrival of spring flowers in areas such as the Cederberg. And whilst the flowers are blooming at the foot of the mountain, the mountain tops are still dusted with snow. While we may not be knee-deep in the white stuff, there’s still some places worth visiting to catch a glimpse of snow, or build a snowman.

For snow you can visit:
The Drakensberg - is very well known for its snow in the winter months. If you are in the area make your way there for the ultimate driving adventure combining spectacular mountain views with some of the highest passes in South Africa. Or visit our one-and-only ski-resort, Tiffendell. Here you can have an action packed holiday, or chill out in the beautiful cabins with some Gluh Wine and a good book.
Ceres - It snows in Ceres every year. Situated at the base of the Skurweberg Mountains, Ceres is about an hour and a half’s drive from Cape Town. The snow makes for an interesting contrast to its usual rolling green pastures and orchards.
Lesotho - Lesotho is remote but beautiful and snow may be expected this year. Sutherland - Every year the dusty Karoo town is turned into a winter wonderland. Snow of up to 30cm deep has been recorded here. The Eastern Cape - And in particular Rhodes, also receives good snowfall in winter.
Get out there and enjoy the snow - while it lasts! And let us put together the ultimate snow holiday package for you!
